As a non-governmental and non-profit organization, the Institute for Religion & Economy Studies (IRES) was founded in 2000 with the aim of attaining the following objectives:
- To carry out pragmatic, fundamental and developmental research and studies in the domains of religious economy, Islamic economy and Iranian economy.
- To enhance the general awareness and consolidate the social tendencies for the comprehensive realization of the economic objectives of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
- To spread out use of economic sciences to analyze and manage problems.
- To find practical and methodical means of resolving economic problems afflicting the Iranian society, particularly for the realization of Economic Development Based on Justice.
