As a non-governmental and non-profit organization, the Institute for Religion & Economy Studies (IRES) was founded in 2000 with the aim of attaining the following objectives:

  1. To carry out pragmatic, fundamental and developmental research and studies in the domains of religious economy, Islamic economy and Iranian economy.
  2. To enhance the general awareness and consolidate the social tendencies for the comprehensive realization of the economic objectives of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
  3. To spread out use of economic sciences to analyze and manage problems.
  4. To find practical and methodical means of resolving economic problems afflicting the Iranian society, particularly for the realization of Economic Development Based on Justice.
